Roblox is launching on Meta’s Quest VR headsets, starting with an open beta that will be available in the coming weeks.

You can currently play Roblox in VR with the Oculus Quest, HTC Vive or Valve Index headsets but all of these require a connection to a host PC.

Now that Roblox is available in VR, company CEO David Baszucki says the possibilities for user created experiences are even more exciting. “It’s a very new and different thing,” he said.

Which VR headsets will work with Roblox? Roblox has a whitelist system that is able to detect and enable specific virtual reality headsets via analyzing the hardware ID of the connected device.

The VR version of Roblox will be available on the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets, and the new Quest 3 when it launches later this year.
