Four years ago, Hurricane Ida formed in the Caribbean eventually making landfall south of New Orleans as a Category 4 storm and it was a major test of the West Bank system. The system performed as designed, holding back 7 feet of storm surge. There were no reports of overtopping or flooding within the federal flood control system.
